Quality affordable housing is a pressing need in the contemporary context and recent central state sponsorship has established a lively competition scene in Portugal.

oitoo’s enduring conviction that good housing projects depend on sensibly scaled buildings connected by lively public spaces on a human scale led to our winning competition proposal, a 12 000 sqm mixed-use residential complex, organizing 105 apartments, retail, services, parking and a kindergarten around a new civic plaza overlooking Chelas Valley, in Lisbon.

This new building is thought as a catalyst for urban regeneration, a urban hub completing an expectant place, tying the new public space with the nearby surroundings, giving continuity and meaning to public routes, ensuring and valuing integration in nearby urban systems, promoting a sense of neighbourhood, uniqueness and identity for this place.
