While construction works are underway at Escola Oliveira Marques, classes will continue in temporary facilities located nearby, ensuring the continuity of school life.
Our proposal for this interim setting is guided by a clear principle: to meet the necessary pragmatism and construction efficiency without compromising the spatial quality essential to a learning environment. We focused on fundamental themes — such as circulation routes and outdoor areas for gathering and informal use — recognising them as places for encounter, pause and informal learning.
Through a restrained yet intentional approach, we use materials and colour as defining elements of identity, giving the temporary facilities a distinct, dignified and welcoming character.
Even if temporary, a space can — and should — be meaningful.
