yellowred magazine

Yellowred publishes projects in which old and new merge into a quiet, unified whole, as well as projects where the new asserts itself strongly in response to the existing building.

The core of the publication – Selected Projects – presents a range of works from around the world, designed by different architects, with varied scales, approaches, and intentions. In some issues, the only link between the selected projects is their shared condition of creating architecture through the reuse of pre-existing structures; in others, a specific topic or common theme connects the chosen works.

Although working with existing buildings has become increasingly common among architects, it is by no means a strictly contemporary concern. For this reason, Yellowred devotes the section Notable Archives to analysing, studying, and interpreting significant examples from the past.

A third section, entitled Wunderkammer, highlights a series of surprising examples of reuse, not necessarily limited to the field of architecture.
